Doll Bling Tooth Gems
WHAT IS IT?!
A tooth gem is a small, decorative jewel or crystal that is attached to a person's tooth using dental adhesive. Tooth gems are often used as a cosmetic dental accessory to add a touch of sparkle or shine to a person's smile. The gems can come in various shapes, sizes, and colors, and are usually made from materials like Swarvoski Crystals, diamonds, or other types of precious or semi-precious stones. Applying a tooth gem is a quick and painless procedure that can be done in a dental office or by a professional tooth gem artist. The gem is attached to the surface of the tooth using a specialized dental adhesive, and can typically last for several months with proper care.

What makes you disqualified?
Any of these can disqualify someone from being able to have this procedure done.
-Severe, persistent, throbbing toothache that can radiate to the jawbone, neck or ear
-Sensitivity to hot and cold temperatures
-Sensitivity to the pressure of chewing or biting
-Fever
-Swelling in your face or cheek
-Tender, swollen lymph nodes under your jaw or in your neck
-Sudden rush of foul-smelling and foul-tasting, salty fluid in your mouth and pain relief, if an abscess ruptures
-Difficulty breathing or swallowing
These factors may increase your risk of a tooth abscess:
Poor dental hygiene. Not taking proper care of your teeth and gums — such as not brushing your teeth twice a day and not flossing — can increase your risk of tooth decay, gum disease, tooth abscess, and other dental and mouth complications.
A diet high in sugar. Frequently eating and drinking foods rich in sugar, such as sweets and sodas, can contribute to dental cavities and turn into a tooth abscess.
Dry mouth. Having a dry mouth can increase your risk of tooth decay. Dry mouth is often due to the side effects of certain medications or aging issues.
FAQ's
1. How long do they last?
Teeth gems can last 3-9 months with proper care! Make sure to brush your teeth as normal and try to be conscious not to eat any excessively hard foods, or at least not bite on the side you have the gems on.
2. How can I remove them?
We do recommend making an appointment with your Dentist to properly remove the gem. If you need to remove them at home, they can be removed with any traditional tweezers or dental floss. Simply pry up on any side of the gem to remove. Floss can work with a little more pressure moving it back and forth to “cut” the glue.
3. How do I care for them?
Make sure you arrive to your appointment with clean/brushed teeth. You should wait 12-24 hours after tooth gem application to avoid sensitivity or premature loss of the gem. Brushing your teeth too soon after a treatment will be abrasive on the teeth and gums.
If sensitivity occurs, it will diminish within 24 hours.
4. Can you or your client still receive routine teeth cleanings/whitening?
Short answer, yes. If your concerned about any routine checkups with your orthodontist, you or your client should do this 1 week before treatment.
You can still have teeth whitening done, but make sure you are careful using the mouth piece or tools needed to properly complete the treatment. If it's an at home teeth whitening kit, there should be no issues having this done, but make sure to clean properly before & after.
5. Do I need to be at least 18 to have this treatment?
Yes, I only apply tooth gems to individual 18-years old or older. Please be ready to present a valid ID at the time of your service!
6. Can I feel the gem on my tooth?
The jewels are only 0.4mm or 0.9mm thick and 1.8mm to 3mm in diameter. Initially, something on your tooth will feel different, but a few days after the application, you will get used to the new feeling.
7. Can I still receive tooth gems with fake teeth or vaneers?
Unfortunately, the bonding agent will only attach to natural tooth tissue.
8. Can I brush my teeth normally?
The presence of the tooth jewelry will not make any difference regarding dental hygiene. However, it is recommended not to use an electric toothbrush & wait 12-24 hours after installment.
9. What if I swallow the tooth gem in the event it falls off?
The jewels are tiny glass crystals or gold. They have no sharp edges. It will come out "the natural way" the same as it went inside your body.
10. Will the tooth gem harm my tooth?
When properly placed on a natural tooth, the jewelry will not damage or harm your tooth in any way.
11. Does the application hurt?
Not at all. The procedure is similar to placing an orthodontist bracket on a tooth. The procedure is painless.
12. What if I have Invisalign? Can I have this done?
No, invisalign would be placed on your tooth & would not fit with the gem on your teeth. Your straight teeth are more important!
13. What are the gems made of?
Teeth gems are typically made from 100% genuine Swarovski crystals. Make sure to use non toxic materials only if you don't use these crystals. For gold gems, normal K Gold plated materials are safe too. Only flat back crystals are acceptable.
